Tasting Thursday, June 18th: 4-7pm

I am so pleased to have two wines from Idilico Wines (Washington state) grace our shelves at 67 Wine & Spirits: Albariño and Monastrell. To celebrate the arrival of these two wines, we are happy to welcome Javier Alfonso, the winemaker of Idilico on Thursday, June 18th from 4-7pm. He will be pouring his wines and sharing the story behind them.

Idilico is the only winery in Washington that focuses solely on traditionally Spanish varieties like Tempranillo, Garnacha, Monastrell and Albariño. This distinction might not be so surprising when one learns that Idilico winemaker, Javier Alfonso, is American born but grew up in his Spanish father's home in the Ribera del Duero region of Spain. Alfonso's roots were also in the Yakima Valley. Born in Washington, he returned to study Engineering at the University of Washington. During his education he fell in love with the wines of Washington and leapt into winemaking.

Our in-store tasting is a fantastic opportunity to try Idilico's fantastic wines and learn what is the future holds for Washington state.
Daniel, Washington wine buyer
