Hi,

Last night my wife and I went out to celebrate the finishing of her semester at school (she got great grades!).

After rehearsal in Williamsburg with our band (Franglais!) we wanted to grab a bite.I suggested one of our favorite places that we had not visited in quite some time, Canaille. Its a great french place on 5th avenue in Park Slope; worth the trip from Manhattan! The owner was a wine director and sommelier at several places in the city before opening this little gem of a place.

I had the lovely tomato soup, and a veggie plate. Eve (my beautiful wife) had Filet Mignon. We shared a bottle of the Austerlitz 2003 St. Emillion. The food, as always, was great; simple food made from great ingredients and prepared well. There was nothing new or weird, just amazing food that's stunningly prepared. The wine was great, showing notes of blackberries, plum, cherries and hints of tar, and coco. Just a great bottle of wine.

Thanks
Ben
