Wow, I can't believe it; we are back into the fall tasting season (a year already!) which began today for me with tastings by Jenny and Francois and Martin Scott.

Jenny and Francois are a great small importer who's focus is on natural wines. They hosted it in the party room of 'The Smith' in the teens on 3rd Ave. Nice space, a small tasting with mostly the people in the NY wine circle who care about natural wines or wines that really show place.

Some stand outs for me at this (some of which we'll carry, and some not!) were the Estezargues Cotes Du Rhone Blanc and Rouge 'from the tank' a great boxed 3 Ltr. Nice and spiced, with clean fruit and stony minerals. I tasted the great Plageoles Mauzac, which is a sparkling wine with the same grape, a little off dry and really nice with lemony notes. The Lapalu Brouilly Vieilles Vignes (always a standout!) was a great one in 06, well worth seeking out for it's clean Gamay fruit and nice clove spice.

More later! Its Quittin' Time!
