Last night we had 40 people for a dinner with Andre Lurton, owner of Chateaux Bonnet, Coucheroy, Cruzeau, and La Louviere. Andre is 84 years old, one year older than my mother, but, he doesn't want to date her. He is a soft spoken man who knows more about the Graves Appellation and the Pessac-Leognan Appellation than any other person I have ever met.

We tasted Bonnet Red and White made in the Entre-deux-Mers, Coucheroy White Graves, Cruzeau Red and 3 vintages of La Louviere red 98, 03 and 05, all of Pessac-Leognan. I must say the wines were beautiful. The 98 was so nicely mature, balanced and well fruited that although not the biggest was my favorite.

Hope to see you at one of our future dinners.
