I thought I'd share one of my new favorite cocktail recipes. I discovered it at the great Chinatown bar, Milk and Honey.

While I was there I asked the bartender for a great rye whiskey drink. I was served a Greenpoint, which is a rye and applejack drink. It's fantastic, and pretty easy to put together. After playing around in the "lab" I came up with this attempt at it.

2 parts rye
1 part applejack
dash of bitters

Place a large hunk of ice in a shaker with this, and shake until cold. Pour out over a small berry (cherry, or my choice- rum soaked blackberry).

Its amazing stuff. It's spicy and sweet with a tinge of heat from rye. I recommend the Old Overholt, which is a pretty nice rye for around $20, Lairds Applejack, and your favorite spiced bitters.
